The story “Marion”is about a  thirteen year old girl budding sexuality  Marion watched the couple Grady and Jack that lived in the house with her family, this sparks an interest in the opposite sex and she is attracted to Jack. The eleven year old girl watched Marion’s behavior towards Jack,  Marion kissed her and introduces her to nudity and this sparks her interest to sexuality.. I feel  if this type of behavior is not offered to a young girl so early her sexuality would not been awaken so fast. . The significance of the girls calling the adults by their first names shows that the girls and the the adults do not  have any respect for each other. The adults grow and sell drugs and walk around the house half naked in front of the girls. Also the father hits Marion not for throwing the garbage out of the window ,he hit her because if the cops would have pulled him over it would’ve got him in trouble for possession of drugs. He didn’t correct her about throwing garbage out of the window while he was driving, he was only concern about himself. . The girls were allowed to look and touch anything in the garage and the adult knew that it was inappropriate literature in there pornography and murder literature that young ladies should not be privy to.  The Roman Polanski story about him raping a girl the same age as Marion was good for this story, it demonstrates that an older gentleman would take advantage of a thirteen year old.. However, in this story Marion is 13  and she is attracted to Jack ,he is much older and the chance of them having inappropriate sex is possible  Yes ,Marion lied on the eleven year old to get her out of the picture. Marion lied so she would have less competition with the eleven year old out of her way. I think the parents Dinah and Bobby are wrong to have all of this disrespectful behavior going on in their home in front of their daughter and her friend.. The ill behavior opened up her to smoke too early and awakened her sexuality.
