William Wei & Koko Ending
I know that the Prof. asked about the opening of the passage, but what stood out to me was the ending. William stated " It was a bad trip; It was heavy. I think I can safely say it changed my life." I feel that William always thought of women as a piece of meat, or walking sex. However, when Koko left him alone in the room, and didn't come back, his heart was broken. It's almost like he got a dose of his own medicine because karma came and bit him on the behind. In other words, he never knew how it felt to be rejected by someone that he loved until that very moment. He treated women like toys with no strings attached, and when this happened to him, he didn't like it at all. Or maybe, he's been deeply hurt in the past so, he puts up a wall all of the time which doesn't allow himself to feel any type of connection with any woman. But, Koko had him all in love which made him vulnerable. There must of been something that left him really attracted to her, so when she left, it felt like a sword cut into an opened wound. So when William said, " I can safely say it changed my life," he probably truly learned a lesson, the hard way. It was just really hard to digest. I like how the author wrote this part open ended because it kept the readers guessing, leaving us to interpret what we thought about the story. That was my outlook on the ending. What do you guys think?
