Finishing Wunderkammer
Albatross the teacher is in this scenario because I can assume the teacher was demonstrating in front of the animals. I can relate to this kid because when I was younger I would imagine that the animals had could talk. I think the indeterminate gender can be the bear. It can say that their are tying to get closer with each other. The significance of the badger and Armadillo' friendship was like a they were in a relationship or something.

I know what you mean about imagining that the animals could speak. When I was younger I thought that the animals could communicate with each other when I wasn't looking. This story really makes a person think about the interactions with all of the animals (including the kid) when they are dead and how it would be different if they were alive. I wonder how long they would last in a room together.
ReplyDeleteI thought this play was different and imaginative. Like I said before,it reminded me of the movie Dr. Do little.I love the twist how the animals were given human characteristics. I feel like the animals looked up to Kid at first, but then he or she soon lost his power. By power, I mean his authority. Albatross stepped up and took control. He became the boss.Over all, I thought this play was really cute. Too bad we couldn't go to the play as a class. I wonder is it would of been like The Lion King on Broadway. I guess we just have to use our imagination. That's all. I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of surprised that you think the play is "cute," Danielle. It's pretty violent, isn't it? Nearly all of the characters are violently killed on stage. Is this the type of play that parents would bring their children to?
