He in some part was agree with things that was happening since he said that when some death that person was going to reach heaven. He also said that when you kill someone is good since puts you in a high position. Only authority people can do it. He can't do since he was scared to do that kind of murder. Even though, he still participated in Aum cult for all great things that happen to him. He didn´t agree with the gas attack since it was a terrible event where died innocent people. I think that he is not telling the truth because he is still in the Aum cult.  He may be covering his boss since even though he didn't kill anyone, he can be an accomplice.
