Additional notes: I have some changes to make on this poem but i would still like to get your feedback on this poem
I enjoyed night walks on the beach of Antigua
As I laid on my back and watched the stars
As they shine bright into the night knowing its shining perfectly light
I gazed into the light counting as many stars I could see in sight and smiling to myself
I know this is where I should be and I cannot think of anywhere else to be
From far below I wonder what it would look like to see the stars close
As I laid on my back I saw a shooting star
I closed my eyes tight as I can making a wish
A wish that I am hoping to come true
The smell of the fresh air so pure
No noise just silence
Strange Dog wandering the lonely beach looking for food or perhaps a friend or he is just enjoying the warm weather
As I put my lips together to whistle at him
There was someone short running towards him
I taught he would’ve chased him but the young boy was just trying to feed him
It was about time for me to leave
It was getting so chilly and noisy, people had started to come on the beach
I was just trying to enjoy the silence, the moment, the stars, and the weather
I couldn’t take the noise so as I stroll down the road thinking of how I enjoyed the night on the beach
I smile so bright because that’s all I needed a little peace
Author’s note : I decide to write this poem because I was born in Antigua and Barbuda it’s about a few years now I have not gone back to visit. As well as that, I miss my home country, the surrounding, the beaches, and the food. Along with, that I miss the night I would take night walks on the beach.
