Why Poetry: A Partial Autobiography Response
In this poem, the author Craig Teicher talks about his battles within his own thoughts. He's dealing with being an outcast. Writing poetry seems to be his outlet. He talks about learning from his mother but then he doesn't want to so he waits. He doesn't have any sense of direction, so his thoughts just wonders I guess. When he was a kid, he said that other boys sense his fear. Maybe he suffers from racing thoughts and anxiety. Writing poetry gives him light, and makes his mind calm. He said it saved his life. i think writing is like his therapy.

Good, Danielle. Why do you think he's an outcast?
